Injury Recovery and Prevention for Athletes
Tom Zheng
Owner, Adapt Health and Performance
This week we have a unique episode – our guest Tom Zheng, owner of Adapt Health and Performance, shares valuable advice for athletes on how they can improve their athletic performance by recovering from and reducing risk for injuries.
Tom ran track in high school and experienced multiple hamstring injuries, which he realized were the result of previous ankle sprains he sustained playing basketball when he was younger. This sparked his interest in sports medicine and eventually led him to his career in helping athletes recover from and prevent injuries so that they can improve their performance on the field.
In this episode:
- Common mistakes young athletes make that increase their risk for injury
- His warm-up routine formula, which can be applied to any sport
- A demonstration of a dynamic stretch
- Helpful resources for athletes who don’t have access to a strength coach or PT
