Paul Caccamo, A Sports-Based Youth Development Leader Using Youth Sports to Transform Public Education & Mental Health
Paul Caccamo is a 35-year veteran of the non-profit sector and the founder of the sports-based youth development movement. He has helped establish numerous nonprofits that focus on youth development, sports, and physical activity and education. He lectures and writes on the impact of sports on youth and community development. He founded the America SCORES national office in 1999 and Up2Us Sports in 2010.
Up2Us Sports is the only national service (AmeriCorps) program to recruit, train, and support youth sports coaches as mentors in underserved communities. Paul received his master’s degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and his Bachelor’s Degree from Georgetown University. In addition, he was awarded Harvard’s most prestigious graduate award for innovation in the design of social service programs.
