NIL Storytellers

Introducing: NIL Storytellers

The Players NIL is proud to announce the launch of our inaugural professional development program, NIL Storytellers.

We believe that every student-athlete has a story, and that every story is worth sharing.

That’s why we created the NIL Storytellers – as a platform to share the incredible stories of student-athletes as they progress along their NIL journey.

Read the official press release here.

“I’ve been fortunate to use my own creativity and energy to enter into multiple NIL deals, but I’d like to use my influence to help other student-athletes chart their own path for success and show that they, too, can build skills that will prepare them for life after college.”

-Rayquan Smith, the ‘King of NIL’

NIL Storytellers Class of 2022

Meet our star athletes in our inaugural class

Jillian Archer

St. John's University Basketball
Jillian is a graduate student on the women’s basketball team at St John’s University in Queens, New York. Born in Los Angeles, CA, Jillian was the 2017 San Fernando Valley Sun Player of the Year in high school and attended USC, but transferred to Georgetown University, where she starred on the women’s basketball team for two seasons and was named to the BIG East All-Academic team. An aspiring sports psychologist, Jillian plans to pursue a professional career in the WNBA. We are excited to help Jillian reach her personal and professional goals.

Keith Dinwiddie, Jr.

Weber State Basketball
Keith is a sophomore guard on the Weber State men’s basketball team. Keith began his collegiate experience at San Diego State University. A multi-talented distributor on the court, Keith’s interests include culinary arts, music, and personal training. We can’t wait to see what Keith does next on and off the court.

Cailey Dockery

Notre Dame Volleyball
Cailey is a freshman libero on the women’s volleyball team at the University of Notre Dame. Born in Murphy, NC, Cailey graduated Magna Cum Laude in high school. Cailey is just starting her journey in NIL, but has a passion for continuing education and non-profit work. We are excited to see how Cailey will develop her personal brand and contribute to the communities that mean the most to her.

Mia Ewell

Morgan State Softball
Mia is a junior shortstop on the softball team at Morgan State University. Born in Portland, OR, Mia was named to the 2022 Preseason All-MEAC Second Team. A creative at heart, Mia is majoring in business administration with a minor in Fine Arts. Mia’s interests off the field include dancing, fashion, painting, and photography. We are excited to see what Mia creates and shares with the world.

PJ James

Bridgeport Prep Basketball
PJ James is point guard on the Bridgeport Prep men’s basketball team and WeR1 AAU team in Bridgeport, Connecticut. PJ is receiving interest from several D-I men’s basketball programs, but is benefiting from NIL policies that enable some high school students to monetize their NIL opportunities. We are excited to support PJ as he shows other high school students how they can build a personal brand that prepares them for life after college.

Grayson Jons

McDaniel College Soccer
Grayson Jons is junior goalkeeper on the McDaniel College women’s soccer team. From Ijamsville, MD, Grayson is putting her Communications major to work in her spare time. Grayson is a content creator for the D-I men’s and women’s lacrosse programs at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. A skilled video editor with an eye for the perfect photo or video, we can’t wait to see the content that Grayson will share with us.

Rayquan Smith

Norfolk State Track & Field
Rayquan Smith is a rising senior thrower on the Norfolk State University Track & Field team. From Richmond, VA, Rayquan starred on the football team but is focusing on the grueling decathlon competition. The ‘King of NIL,’ Rayquan is the perfect example of how non-Power 5 conference athletes can build and monetize a successful personal brand. With an engaging personality and ability to connect with any audience, we are excited to follow along as Rayquan shares how he built one of the best brands in NIL.

Gib Versfeld

Johns Hopkins Lacrosse
Gib Versfeld is a graduate student goalkeeper on the D-I Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse program. Originally from Langhorne, PA, Gib was a NJ state champion in high school and was the starting keeper on the D-III Amherst College team that finished as the national runner-up in 2019. Gib is currently building a goalie instruction brand on social media called Goalie by Gib that is quickly becoming the go-to source for motivational and inspirational video content for young goalies. We are excited to play a small part in helping Gib build his brand.

Welcome. I’m Mark Koesterer, founder of The Players NIL, and I have a deep passion for this work. My background includes a long and extensive relationship with the sporting industry. As a former college athlete, I have first hand experience navigating the collegiate world. As a father of college athletes, I was actively involved with supporting the requirements needed to compete at the highest level, while maintaining focus on broader life goals. As the president and CEO of Sports Studio, I helped build a successful Hollywood sports and entertainment company.

At Sports Studio, I interacted with athletes, brands, production companies, professional sports leagues, and agents. All of this gave me expert-level experience in digital marketing, branding, production, group licensing, sponsorship, influencer marketing, apparel design and production, and fan engagement.

It’s ALL of this collective experience that I offer, while bringing you a premier level of service that will help you reach your goals. If you would like to learn how to build your brand and maximize your NIL potential, contact me today.
