John Sardella
Coach, Educator, and Author
Introduced to lacrosse at the age of seven, John Sardella tells his story of how athletics opened doors for him since an early age.
From learning experiences, to career opportunities, to building meaningful relationships, John is an accomplished role model and an excellent example of someone who has truly leveraged his involvement in lacrosse to build himself a purposeful life following his passions. He discusses the impact that sports has had not only on his life, but on the lives of his teammates, players, coaches, administrators, and everyone else along the way.
In an emotional statement, he shares how the support he received from his former players and colleagues, along with his return to coaching, helped him find meaning after the devastating loss of his wife.
A published children’s book author, John also discusses how his life experiences were represented in his books – and how he wishes for his work to touch the lives of those around him.
His parting words: “Keep your core values and your integrity intact. You’re going to experience challenges you’ve never expected or dealt with before, but as long as you keep your core values and your integrity intact, you’ll be able to make it.”
