How the Wrong Athletic Wear Can Affect Performance
Marina Paul
Founder, SPRHRA
Author, Becoming a Superhero
Author and entrepreneur Marina Paul joins us today to share how the struggles she endured as a Division I athlete prepared her to help young female athletes overcome the same hurdles she faced.
Marina reflects on the embarrassment and discomfort she felt during a middle school volleyball tournament where this tiny spandex she was given did not fit her properly. Besides making her feel ashamed of how much skin was being exposed, this also affected her performance as she had to constantly stop to adjust her outfit.
After graduating college – and wearing men’s athletic wear throughout her college athletic career – she decided to take matters into her own hands by starting SPRHRA, a female-focused athletic wear brand that prioritizes function, freedom, health, and comfort.
